Our history
Gants Hill Smiles is a well established fully private dental practice serving the local community in Gants Hill, Ilford at the border between Essex and London having been originally established over 70 years ago as a family-run clinic.
​Over the years, our team has continued to grow, learn, and invest in the latest dental techniques and technology — all to give you the best possible care. While a lot has changed in dentistry, our values have stayed the same: honest advice, gentle treatment, and a genuine passion for helping people feel confident in their smiles.
Ms Bhumika Amlani, Dentist, BDS 2001 (Ind), IQE Stat Exam UK 2008, GDC No 151523, has practiced extensively in many dental settings, acquiring over 20 yrs of experience over the years, combining clinical expertise with a calm, reassuring manner that patients of all ages appreciate. She believes in building long-lasting relationships based on trust, transparency, and mutual respect. She has gained extensive experience to carry out a range of treatments from simple cleaning and polishing of teeth, deep cleaning, complex and difficult surgical extractions such as extractions of wisdom teeth, complicated roots, general dentistry, tooth whitening, white fillings, and cosmetic procedures such as composite bonding, veneers and smile makeovers. She has also undergone training with INVISALIGN to provide Invisalign clear aligner treatment to provide teeth straightening. She is known for her attention to detail, gentle approach and unwavering commitment to patient care.
Outside of the clinic, Ms Amlani stays up to date with the latest advances in dentistry through regular training and professional development—always striving to bring the best possible care to her patients. Whether you're visiting for a routine check-up or a more complex treatment, Ms Amlani takes the time to listen, understand your concerns, and ensure you feel completely at ease throughout your visit.
Aisu, Trainee Dental Nurse

Aisu started her dental nursing course in May 2024, and she brings a vibrant, caring energy to the practice. Currently training as a dental nurse, Aisu is dedicated to learning and growing in her role, always ensuring that patients feel comfortable and supported during their visit.
Her friendly, approachable nature makes her a natural at putting people at ease, and she’s always there with a smile to assist the team and help patients feel relaxed. Aisu is passionate about dental care and is committed to providing the highest standard of support to both the dental professionals and the patients.
Outside of the clinic, Aisu enjoys dancing and travelling, and she looks forward to expanding her knowledge and skills as she progresses in her dental career.
Appointments Policy and Cancellations
Gants Hill Smiles is committed and determined to provide all our patients with exceptional dental care and service.

Our surgery operates strictly by appointment, and we greatly value your time. Your appointment is reserved exclusively for you.
We understand that plans may unexpectedly change resulting in you being unable to attend your appointment and we are more than happy to rearrange appointments, provided we have sufficient notice and we will do our best to accommodate your needs reasonably.
However, missed appointments, late cancellations, and failure to attend your booking are costly and time-consuming for both you and us and have an adverse impact on our schedule and patients waiting to be seen. If there is any issue with your appointment, please contact us immediately so we can arrange an alternative time for you.
Any cancellations made without a minimum of 48 hours’ notice (excluding weekends and Bank holidays), or failure to attend, will incur a minimum fee of £40.00 per 15 minutes booked. More complex procedures may incur a higher fee, which will be communicated prior to booking. Notification of changes to appointment length must be provided at least 48 working hours in advance. Arriving to inform us of a cancellation or change at the time of the appointment will also result in the applicable cancellation fee.If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, the appointment will be considered missed and the cancellation fee will apply. No future bookings can be made, until outstanding fees are paid.
We kindly request that you arrive 10 minutes early to allow time to complete any required forms.

Our policy is to collect advance payment prior to any booking, which will be deducted from your final bill on the day of your appointment. In the event of a no-show, late arrival, or late cancellation (less than 48 working hours’ notice, excluding bank holidays, out-of-hours, and weekends), 100% of the advance deposit will be forfeited.
Appointments booked within the 48-hour notice period are non-refundable. To rebook after a missed or late-cancelled appointment, a new full deposit will be required.
Patients who fail to attend or cancel late on more than two occasions may be permanently removed from our patient list. We are happy to rebook within the policy limits and, where applicable, carry the deposit over to your new booking.
Patient Responsibilities

It is the patient’s responsibility to track and remember their own appointments and notify us promptly of any changes to contact details, including address, email, and telephone numbers.

We are not liable for missed appointments due to non-delivery of email or text reminders, regardless of the reason.

Reminder emails and texts are provided as a courtesy, and not contractual and cannot be guaranteed.

Routine 6-month check-ups are essential for good dental health. The dentist is not responsible for dental issues arising from missed recall appointments, regardless of whether a reminder is sent.
